LFM Capital

After reaching capacity in their existing building, LFM Capital set out to expand their private office space with a new structure, designed to complement the original historic building. We aimed to preserve the existing building's character while introducing a fresh, purposeful, and integrated addition. In line with the client’s vision of honoring their manufacturing partners, we incorporated materials and products sourced from those industries throughout the design. This approach created a space where visitors can move through the building and experience, in a tangible way, the company’s deep ties to its industrial collaborators.

The project features a variety of custom architectural details that blend industrial character with thoughtful design. Inside, a textured glass and steel conference room divider enhances their previously limited gathering space. A sculptural steel-and-wood stair turns a functional design element into a focal point. Office walls use a storefront glass and door system, which helps bring natural light into the building’s core. Outside, the exterior includes a 14-inch steel channel cornice, a custom steel door surround and canopy, and limestone veneer that pays tribute to the historic building’s original stonework. Between the two buildings is a minimally detailed, recessed connector designed with transparent materials to maintain visual separation but intentional connection.

The project transformed a vacant lot into a thoughtfully scaled building that complements the historic character of the street, adding great value to the neighborhood. By consolidating operations from multiple leased buildings, the company reinforced its commitment to keeping everyone together under one roof while strengthening its presence as a positive and respectful neighbor.
