Waymore’s
The vision behind Waymore's was to create warm, welcoming community spaces that truly captured and honored the spirit of a hotel rooted in the heart of East Nashville. We collaborated closely with the client to develop the full program for the lobby and terrace, as well as contribute to the layout of the kitchen to support the food and beverage experience.
In the lobby, we created a relaxed, eclectic environment that felt like stepping into a lived-in artist’s loft. Cozy, approachable, and full of character, we invoked the spirit of the 1970s, drawing on the rich visual and cultural language of Americana, folk, country, and classic rock music. Central to the concept was a lounge-like atmosphere with a casual all-day café and a focal-point bar that seamlessly connected to the reception, transforming what was originally a raw, unfinished space.
The rooftop was envisioned as a secret garden in the sky, focused less on city views and more on drawing guests into a lush, immersive retreat. The design thoughtfully incorporates flexible zones for lounging, gathering, and performances.
In the lobby, you'll find sheer curtains that soften the expansive windows, creating a cozy sense of enclosure, while glazed tile cladding adds warmth to exposed, structural concrete pillars. The concrete slab floors ground the space, complemented by a carefully curated mix of new and vintage furniture pieces that add character and comfort. The bar features rich Douglas fir wood paired with striking green Verde marble, blending natural textures with a refined palette. Upstairs, the rooftop boasts a bold, dipping sunset orange swoop bar, with the front clad in white and iridescent glazed tiles that shimmer like the fading light of a sunset. The outdoor furnishings leaned neutral and natural including teak, plaster, concrete, and stone-toned upholstery, creating an organic contrast to the interior’s glow. Planters serve as the major design element, shaping intimate seating areas including cozy two-tops and larger group spaces. Firepits and string lights enhance the atmosphere, while open areas at either end of the rooftop accommodate concerts and DJ nights, creating a versatile, inviting environment.
The project created a vibrant gathering spot for hotel guests and the local community. Welcoming the public and embracing a pet-friendly policy, it offers a relaxed, inclusive space where locals can enjoy a unique neighborhood experience. With its rare skyline view, the venue enhances the area’s appeal and strengthens the connection between the hotel and community.
